Ghostland Observatory @ The Valarium

The night ended early, but it raged while it lasted. Not only was Mary able to Live Paint, but we also had HawkDave grace us with his photo magic. Magma Blood opened up, with some female vocals for the last 2 songs, then came the reign of Ghostland Observatory to thrash the Valarium to the ground. It seemed as if the crowd quadrupled when they went on.

Next show will be This is Art and Cherub, they'll be playing Rhythm & Brews in Chattanooga Tn on May 3rd.

Been slackin' but been workin'...

423BraggingRights has made it back to its home town of Chattanooga Tn to do a wheat paste project for the 10x10 Showcase during HATCH Chattanooga Arts Week. Be sure to keep up on mural locations and installation dates here.

As far as music photos go, we just got booked on April 8th at the Honest Pint for a benefit show featuring: The Bohannons, The Waters Brothers, Endelouz, DJ Eroc, DJ Spoon, DJ Jericho, DJ Bspaz, and DJ Skinny 'Ill (of Digital Butter). The show will also have professional chair massages, auctions from Triple 7 tattoo for tattoo time from EVERY artist at Triple 7, and other amazing raffle prizes donated from some booze companies. All proceeds go to Angie, a mother of 3 who recently lost her house to fire. There is no cover at the door, but a $5 suggested donation will be greatly appreciated.

Then there is Ghostland Observatory on April 15th at the Valarium in Knoxville TN, This Is Art with Cherub at Rhythm and Brews on May 3rd, and Mindelixer Presents: Bass Church at Track 29 on May 5th, which kicks off a new Chattanooga monthly worth keeping an eye on.

Looking into any festivals coming up, so if you have any in mind and would love to see 423BraggingRights there as much as I would, please send any leads and info my way here.

... 'til next time.

423BR Workin' with Paper

Work and play has been mad fun in AustinTx , the White House Ranch opening show went well, I got to shoot Moonlight Bride during their SxSW set, and I've met more people worth knowing than I can count, but its all back to business. Be on the lookout for some Huge Beautifuls... just a warning.

PPRWRK is a side project that Mary and I do where we wheat paste large scale murals representing either my photos, or Mary's art. Below is a video of a paste we did in Austin Tx at the White House Ranch titled "Socket Bunnies".

Just recently launched my 423BR Facebook page, so enjoy me annoying you with that. Got my approval from Gnarnia the festival for shootin that from August 9th-11th, Gnearly Bird tickets are available now so get em while they're only $75. Its all going according to plan. Now enjoy some photos.

Camping in a castle made of shipping pallets...

... and it feels like home. Mary and I have been in Austin for 2 weeks, with so many projects getting into full swing I don't know where to start. We spent 6 weeks at C-Squat, a punk house in the East Village, got to see the American History Museum, some tall buildings, 5ptz aerosol museum, photo'd a Banji practice session, and got to put up an 8ft tall Fly Squatter in the basement of the squat.

So far in Austin we have built a perimeter wall for a backyard campground, and are currently building a tree house style platform for our tent so we can have a porch and sleep 6ft off the ground. Photo'd an Austin band called Buffalo at the Gypsy my first night in town, then shot a noise show featuring Space Quake the following night. Since then I've made my way into a private Synthesizer Club Meet, and helped an Austin artist with some photos for her portfolio, she has an Etsy store and goes by Squid Buttons. All this wrapped up with some campfire tunes half the nights we've been out here, it's unbelievable.

We launched a site for PPRWRK, our wheat paste, live painting, tour managing, and event photography company. I'll still be shooting under the 423BraggingRights handle, we'll just be pushing all business type of such towards PPR-WRK.COM so that 423BraggingRights.com can maintain primarily as a mass gallery page, while ppr-wrk.com will have a list of portolios for all offered jobs, particularly showcasing our wheat paste murals and offering our tour management services.

Eliot Lipp SE '012 Tour Wrap-Up... now onto Austin Tx?

With shows selling out along the tour, and some simply put 'good people', I don't think there's much that could have gone better on this tour. Starting at the Zydeco in Birmingham AL, taking over the Carolina's at the Orange Peel, Music Farm, the Soapbox, Boone Saloon, Greene Street Club. Then smoothed on over to TN with a show at Chattanooga's Rhythm & Brews, and 2 in Knoxville, Glass is Art and the most massive and beautiful Valarium. Just as we were ready for some New York street food there was one more show in Charlotte NC at the Neighborhood Theatre.

This week you can see Eliot Lipp tear shit up with Marty Party in Baltimore on 2/15 or in DC on 2/16, then he's onto the west coast to sweeten up San Francisco on 2/17.

In Charlotte I was able meet and dot some lower-case j's with Charlotte's own photo badass, Shaun SicImages Hollingsworth, who has been making mad waves with his BassNectar NYE shots ending up on em effin ROLLING STONE .com (here|here|here). Glad to have made that connect.

Currently enjoyin' life with my lady in New York City, stayin' in a squat house on Ave C, have access to some of the worlds most amazing art collections, meeting some of the best people yet, and visited 5ptz which simply blew me away... one of the most inspirational cities I could have ever imagined.

Next stop Austin TX, with a week of February to spare Mary Margaret and I will be helping with some art installations in honor of SxSW. With some after-parties and possible SxSW press passes up in the air, I have a feeling Austin is gonna live up to my mental image of this bright and magical city. Looking into Coachella & Nocturnal Wonderland for April... So pumped.
